GOLDEN, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Apr. 21, 2011) - One big inning by Colorado School of Mines was enough to break the ThunderWolves' back in the opening game of a four-game set Thursday.

CSU-Pueblo lost a 3-0 lead when Mines put up an insurmountable nine runs in the bottom of the 4th inning, which saw the Orediggers string together nine singles, a walk, and gain the benefit of two ThunderWolf errors to take a 9-3 lead.

The ThunderWolves get as close as 9-5 when it used two singles and two walks to score two runs in the top of the fifth inning, but an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded sunk the Pack's hopes for a big inning.

In all, the ThunderWolves stranded 10 runners in the game, unable to get hits in crucial situations.

With the loss, the ThunderWolves' three-game win streak is snapped and it falls to 22-17 overall and 17-12 in RMAC play.  But the Pack will have three more games left in its series with the Orediggers, with a doubleheader scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m.
