ThunderWolves gain ground in Mountain Division race.

PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Apr. 16, 2011) - Led by a three-hit complete game from Jeremiah Struble (So., Manitou Springs, Colo.), CSU-Pueblo swept a doubleheader from Regis Saturday, winning 5-4 and 4-0.

Struble, who allowed just two runs in a nine-inning complete game in his last outing, a win over Colorado Christian, was nearly unhittable Saturday, giving up just one extra base hit and allowing just seven balls to be hit to the outfield.

Struble's lights out performance was on the heels of a huge rally in the first game that saw the Pack come back from a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning to put up two runs and eventually claim the 5-4 win.

The Pack's comeback would make baseball purists proud - a walk to Justin Cooper (Sr., Pullman, Wash.) led to a Jason Veyna (Sr., Lamar, Colo.) sacrifice bunt.  A single by Andrew Castaneda (Jr., San Jose, Calif.) followed by an RBI groundout by Chase Lacomb (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) that tied the game at four.

Then came the big hit - an RBI triple by J.T. Greenhood (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) that put the Pack ahead for good, 5-4.  Joey Juarez (Jr., Oxnard, Calif.) grabbed the win while Tim Pomierski (Jr., Upland, Calif.) notched his RMAC-leading fifth save.

CSU-Pueblo, now boasting a 21-16 record and 16-11 mark in conference play, are now just a game behind Metro State for second place in the RMAC Mountain Division and 3-1/2 games back from Mesa State for the division lead.  The Pack is currently in fourth place in the total conference standings.

The Pack will wrap up its series with Regis Sunday at noon with a nine-inning contest.
