Pack tennis takes on ranked opponents

LAUGHTON, Okla. (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 4, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo lost two matches against nationally-ranked opponents Friday, falling 9-0 to 21st-ranked Cameron and 7-2 to 26th-ranked Southwest Baptist.

CSU-Pueblo had trouble hanging with such tough competition, but managed two wins in the Southwest Baptist match, both coming in matches from Saul Shrom (Fr., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada).  Shrom won at four-singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win over freshman, Daniel Cardona, and joined with doubles partner Bruno Hurtado (So., Mexico City, Mexico) in claiming an 8-6 victory over Jorge Palacios and Tyler Welch at two-doubles.

The road doesn't get any easier for the ThunderWolves as another ranked opponent, No. 27 East Central (Okla.) is on tap for the Pack Saturday.
