DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 20, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo came away with a series split with Metro State Sunday, claiming a 9-5 win over the Roadrunners in a key RMAC Mountain Division battle.
The ThunderWolves rode a six-run second inning and a strong day in the field to a win in a game in which they never trailed. In one inning, Metro State issued three walks and committed three errors, allowing CSU-Pueblo to plate six runs with only two hits.
CSU-Pueblo also got a big day in the field, a day removed from a game in which the Pack committed five errors in a 7-6 loss.
Jeremiah Struble (So., Manitou Springs, Colo.) earned his second win of the season in a strong, seven-hit performance. He struck out a career-high six batters in his strongest outing of the season.
CSU-Pueblo is now 12-9 overall and 7-5 in RMAC play, tied for the third-best record in the RMAC, after the split. The ThunderWolves will remain on the road for a cross-divisional battle at New Mexico Highlands next weekend.
