PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 19, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo closed out a tough weekend of tennis Saturday in their home conference opener, losing six matches to three to a much-improved Colorado Christian squad.

It came on the heels of losses at the United States Air Force Academy Friday, falling 7-0 to Division I Air Force, then by an 8-1 margin to nationally-ranked Metro State in a non-conference tussle.

Over the rough weekend, the Pack's best record was claimed by Cindy Boughton (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), who went 1-2 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play, making her the only member of the Pack's roster to get wins both at singles and doubles over the three duals.

"We continue to compete will with teams in our conference," Pack coach Brad Gerler said.  "We are just struggling figuring out how to close out matches."

So far this season, the ThunderWolves are boasting one of the best one-two punches at the top of the lineup, and are 3-2 in conference play at the six-hole.  The key, Gerler said, is the middle.

"We are obviously tough at the top of the lineup," Gerler said. "We need to develop in the middle of the lineup more."

Following Spring Break, CSU-Pueblo will return to the courts, this time in a conference pod at Montana State Billings.
