ThunderWolves net most points in a single game since 2008.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 16, 2011) - After enduring a six game road games, spanning over three weeks, the CSU-Pueblo women's basketball team returned home to the friendly confines of Massari Arena to face the Western New Mexico Mustangs. It must have felt nice to be home as the Pack dominated the Mustangs 97-42.
The Pack came out firing to begin the game, shooting an impressive 48 percent from the field and 53 percent beyond the 3-point line. The team also was very solid on the boards outrebounding the Mustangs 55-24.
Laurel Kearsley (Jr., Victor, Idaho) was huge in the game finishing with a double-double, while collecting seven of those rebounds offensively. Kearsley finished with 15-points and 13-rebounds
Jennelle Branting (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) and Alex Evans (So., Louisville, Colo.) both were solid contributors with each scoring 20 and 15-points respectively. Altogether five players finished in double figures for the ThunderWolves.
The Mustangs were led by Kim Clark, who finished with 10-points to lead the team.
The win helped the Pack extend a six-game home win streak, which began last season with a win over the very same Mustangs. The win was also the largest margin of victory over Western New Mexico since 1984 when the Pack won by 29 points.
To cap off the record setting night, the 97 points scored by the Pack were the most in a game since 2008.
The Pack have one more game against New Mexico Highlands Saturday night before taking a short holiday break. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
