Metro State 19, CSU-Pueblo 2
DENVER - CSU-Pueblo couldn't point to many positives Saturday
following a 19-2 loss to Metro State in Denver.
The ThunderWolves couldn't get effective pitching, sending five
pitchers to the mound and getting its most effective performance
from Zack Richmond (Jr., Chino Hills, Calif.), who
allowed just two runs compared to the multiple runs allowed by
other Pack pitchers.
Offensively wasn't much prettier, as the ThunderWolves mustered
just five hits overall, its lone big hit coming on a home run from
Kyle Wager (Jr., Globe, Ariz.).
The loss unceremoniously dips the Pack under .500 for the first
time since 2008, now at 15-16 on the season and 9-9 in RMAC
play. Luckily for the ThunderWolves, in the weak RMAC Plains
Division, CSU-Pueblo is still in first place, holding a one-game
lead over Regis.
CSU-Pueblo will return to its home field next weekend with a
four-game set vs. Colorado Christian.
