Regis 7, CSU-Pueblo 6
Facing a strange "road" game at Pueblo's Runyon Field against
Regis, CSU-Pueblo couldn't catch up following an early-inning
explosion by the Rangers, falling 7-6.
After jumping to a 3-0 lead in the second inning following
back-to-back jacks by Jon Proesl (Sr., California City,
Calif.) and Austin Roff (Sr., Colorado Springs,
Colo.), Regis put a pair of threes on the board in the
second and third innings, mounting seven hits over the two innings
and taking a 6-3 lead.
The ThunderWolves slowly inched back into the ball game, putting
up one run each in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings, squandering a big
opportunity in the 7th, having bases loaded with one out. But
a popout and foul out ended the inning with just one run on the
board, and served as the Pack's final opportunity to put runs on
the board.
The loss drops the Pack under the .500 mark to 5-6 while Regis
scored just their second win in seven tries this season. The
Pack will conclude this series Saturday at CSU-Pueblo Rawlings
Field with a noon doubleheader against the Rangers.
