ThunderWolves down Colorado Christian before falling to Mesa
State.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 9,
2010) - CSU-Pueblo wrapped up the fall segment of its
season Saturday, scoring a 9-0 win over Colorado Christian before
losing 6-3 to Mesa State.
The ThunderWolves were dominant against an overmatched Colorado
Christian squad, doing one better than the 8-1 win they earned over
the Cougars on Sept. 25. The Pack were handed two wins by
default, and never surrendered more than three sets in singles play
or more than two sets in doubles play.
Against Mesa State, close matches decided the Pack's fate.
Despite getting wins at one-singles, two-singles, and
three-singles, the Pack was on the short end of a pair of 9-7
losses at one- and two-doubles, and lost on tiebreaks at
six-singles, all of which would quickly have turned the dual in the
Pack's favor.
CSU-Pueblo will take the rest of the fall off before returning
to the court in the spring. Currently, the ThunderWolves'
spring schedule has not yet been released.
