PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 31, 2010) - In the final game of the regular season the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves were defeated 4-1 by No. 23 Metro State. The game was a meaningless one for the Pack, as they have already clinched a spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference playoffs.
Marc Herschberger started the scoring off for the nationally-ranked Roadrunners, receving a pass from Andrew Mejia to open up the scoring for Metro State. Steven Emory scored his first of two goals in the 39th minute for a 2-0 Roadrunner lead.
Metro State would add another goal in the 66th minute from Walter Bertini, who scored on a shot he hit to the upper left corner of the goal.
The ThunderWolves would save a potential shutout from Roadrunner keeper Issa Bissau on an own goal. Jonathan Hall (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska) broke to the right side of the net before sending a pass across the net that hit off a Metro State defender before ricocheting into the Roadrunners net.
Steven Emory scored his second goal of the game in the 85th minute off a cross from Scott Crawford.
The Pack will begin their playoff push wednesday when they travel to play Regis.
The Pack finish off the regular season with a 7-10-1 overall record and a 6-7-1 RMAC record. The team improved their conference record from last season which was a dismal 4-10.
