PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 27, 2026) – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team continues to establish itself among the nation's elite, holding steady at No. 2 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's National Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.
The ThunderWolves (13-0-2), under first-year head coach Thomás Pazo Tourinho, remain unbeaten heading into the final match of the regular season and occupy the nation's No. 2 ranking for the second consecutive week.
CSU Pueblo trails only top-ranked Cal State Los Angeles (14-0-2), which maintained its position atop the national rankings. Catawba (11-0-2) climbed three spots to No. 3, while Charleston (14-2-0) dropped one position to No. 4. Midwestern State (13-0-4) rounded out the top five.
The Pack is one of just four unbeaten teams remaining in the Top 25, joining Cal State Los Angeles, Midwestern State and No. 8 Lincoln (Mo.).
Tuesday's rankings also featured three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs in the Top 25, with CSU Pueblo leading the way at No. 2, followed by Regis at No. 15 and UCCS at No. 23. Fort Lewis also received votes in the national poll.
The ThunderWolves have continued their impressive run throughout the 2026 campaign, steadily climbing the national rankings after entering the Top 25 at No. 21 in mid-September. Since then, CSU Pueblo has climbed into the national spotlight, reaching No. 2 last week and maintaining that position heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
The Pack is coming off a dominant 3-0 victory over Colorado School of Mines last Thursday at Gonzales Stadium. Juan Pablo Orozco Soto scored twice, while João Lutz added another goal as CSU Pueblo controlled the match offensively, outshooting the Orediggers 21-2 to remain undefeated.
Up Next
The No. 2 ThunderWolves close out the 2026 regular season Wednesday, Oct. 28, traveling to Colorado Springs for a nationally ranked RMAC showdown against No. 23 UCCS. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Mountain Lion Stadium.
With the RMAC regular season championship still up for grabs, CSU Pueblo can clinch the conference title outright with a victory over the Mountain Lions, adding another milestone to an already historic first season under Pazo Tourinho.
