ThunderWolves down Wildcats in mid-week tune up.
DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 21,
2010) - CSU-Pueblo enjoyed a much-needed dominant game
Thursday night as the ThunderWolves marched into Denver for a match
with NAIA Johnson & Wales and left with a quick three-set win,
25-11, 25-12 and 25-15.
CSU-Pueblo was the villain in handing JWU its 57th straight
loss, and doing it by giving the Pack reserves a lot of work in the
match.
Five ThunderWolves came away with four or more kills, with
reserves Megan Koop (So., Littleton, Colo.) and
Janae Heiser (Jr., Westminster, Colo.) getting
good court time in in registering five and four kills,
respectively. At setter, Myranda Cate (RFr., Yorba
Linda, Calif.) got the bulk of the work, turning in 18
assists.
But the star of the night was regular starter Tamia
Herholz (RSo., Colorado Springs, Colo.). Herholz
accounted for a match-high 12 kills to just four errors for a .364
attack percentage. She also had 10 digs, second most on the
team.
The win raises the ThunderWolves' 2010 mark to 7-13, and most
importantly, provides a confidence boost as the Pack embarks on a
trip to the Western Slope, where they will take on Mesa State
Friday night and Fort Lewis on Saturday.
