Western New Mexico 3, CSU-Pueblo 0
SILVER CITY, N.M. - Things seemed to be looking up for the
ThunderWolves in its first set vs. Western New Mexico Friday, as it
was one point away from cruising to an early 1-0 lead over the
Mustangs.
But a collapse by the Pack in that set as the Mustangs rattled
off three straight points to pull off the win, doomed the
ThunderWolves for the rest of the match, as Western New Mexico
scored a dominant 25-13 second-set win en route to a three sets to
none sweep of the Pack. Western New Mexico won the third set
easily 25-10.
CSU-Pueblo falls to 3-8 with the loss and 1-2 in RMAC play.
Early on, Janae Heiser (So.,
Westminster, Colo.) and Megan Koop (Fr.,
Littleton, Colo.) were dominant, combining for nine kills
and five blocks in the first set. For the remainder of the
match, the duo managed to combine for just 5 kills and 1
block.
CSU-Pueblo's long New Mexico trip will continue Saturday when it
travels to Las vegas to take on New Mexico Highlands in the Pack's
fourth RMAC match of the season.
