PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf opened its home tournament in strong fashion on Sunday, finishing Round One of the Southern Colorado Open atop the leaderboard at Walking Stick Golf Course.
The ThunderWolves turned in a seven-over 295 on the par-72, 6,000-yard links-style layout, putting them in a tie for first place with UT Dallas heading into the final round. The Pack also paced all six Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs in the field, showcasing their depth on a challenging course setup.
Leading the way individually was Lisa Ekberg, who sits alone in first place after a steady even-par 72 to open the tournament. Ekberg's consistent play set the tone for a CSU Pueblo lineup that placed four golfers inside the top portion of the leaderboard.
Close behind, Thale Victoria Estensen continued her impressive freshman campaign with a one-over 73, keeping herself firmly in contention. Freya Constable and Olivia Heard each carded rounds of three-over 75, giving the Pack critical scoring balance across the lineup.
Yale Lee rounded out the ThunderWolves' scorecard with an opening round 78, helping CSU Pueblo maintain its position at the top in a tightly contested field.
Round Two of the Southern Colorado Open is set to begin Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Walking Stick Golf Course, as the ThunderWolves look to build on their lead and secure a home tournament title, and win their fourth tournament of 2025-26.
