ALAMEDA, Calif. - The No. 24 Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf wrapped up its opening tournament of the 2026 championship season on Tuesday at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Alameda, California, finishing seventh overall at Corica Park Golf Course.
The ThunderWolves opened the tournament with a first-round score of 295 on Monday and followed with a 304 in the final round to close the two-day event at 23-over par (295–304). The tournament served as an early-season test for the Pack as they opened spring play following a highly successful fall season.
California State University San Marcos captured the team title, finishing the event at 13-under par, while Point Loma Nazarene University placed second at three-under.
Individually, the ThunderWolves were led for the tournament by Thale Victoria Estensen, who finished tied for 24th after posting a 75 in Tuesday's final round. Yale Lee finished tied for 28th overall, following up her even-par opening round with a six-over 78 on day two.
Lisa Ekberg closed the event tied for 33rd after turning in a 77 in the final round, while Olivia Heard moved up the leaderboard on Tuesday, shooting a 74 to finish tied for 36th. Senior captain Freya Constable rounded out the ThunderWolves' lineup, finishing tied for 60th after carding an 82 in the second round.
The Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout marked the first spring competition for the ThunderWolves under interim head coach John Wristen, as CSU Pueblo continues to build toward the heart of the 2026 championship season.
The Pack will now get some time off before returning to action March 9–10, heading back to California to compete in the Fujikura Invitational in Vista, Calif., at Shadowridge Country Club.
