PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Colorado State University Pueblo men's golfer
Agustin Pizzorno is ready for the biggest stage of his collegiate career as he prepares to tee it up at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships, beginning Monday morning in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Pizzorno, who advanced as an individual qualifier after a phenomenal 9-under-par performance at the NCAA South Central/West Super Regional, will represent the ThunderWolves at the prestigious PGA National Resort, home of the PGA Tour's Honda Classic.
The rising CSU Pueblo standout is scheduled to tee off at 8:04 a.m. ET on Hole 1 at the formidable Championship Course, which stretches over 7,000 yards and plays to a par of 72 with a daunting course rating of 75.2. The field will play 54 holes of stroke play over three days (Monday–Wednesday), with an individual national champion crowned after the final round on Wednesday.
Pizzorno enters the week with momentum and confidence, having bested some of the region's toughest competition to punch his ticket to Nationals. This marks a return to PGA National for the ThunderWolves program, which last competed at this venue during the 2021 National Championships under head coach Josh Koschke.
PGA National is notorious for its challenging layout and demanding conditions, especially in May. The course's most infamous stretch — the "Bear Trap" — awaits late in the round. Comprising holes 15, 16, and 17, the Bear Trap features treacherous water hazards, swirling winds, and shot-making demands that test even the most seasoned professionals. Pizzorno's precision and mental toughness will be crucial as he navigates this iconic trio.
In the opening round, Pizzorno is paired with Santiago Caride (West Texas A&M) and Max Barile (Florida Southern College).
