LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Men's Golf team is in a tie for 17th place after day one of the 2024 NCAA South Central/West Super Regional.
The Pack survived extremely tough conditions, teeing off in the final pairing and playing in high winds and tough pin locations, along with quick greens. CSU Pueblo shot an impressive round of 14 over par (298) in the afternoon wave.
The ThunderWolves were led by their Captain
Jamie Roberts (Kinross, Scotland/Kinross), as the Scotman shot a gritty round of one-over (72) to sit in a tie for 25th individually.
Jeffrey Nelson (Commerce City, Colo./Prairie View) complemented Roberts well, as the junior fired a round of two-over (73), while
Archie Wyatt (Edinburgh, Scotland) shot a three-over round (73), which was highlighted with three birdies on the back nine.
Paraic McGrath (Galway, Ireland) shot a round of eight-over (79), while
Colt Tenpenny (Fulshear, Tex./Katy Tompkins) shot nine-over (80) to round out the scores for the Pack.
The tough New Mexico State University Golf Course is tipped out at 7242 yards with a course rating of 72.7.
CSU Pueblo is back in action tomorrow for round two and will begin at 10 AM.
