SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Men and Women's Indoor Track & Field teams opened the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Friday with strong performances.
The men's team sits in third place with 23 points, trailing the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs who sits in second place with 33.33 points, and Colorado School of Mines who leads with 71 points.
The women's team sits in fifth place with 18 points. UCCS sits in second place with 35 points, while Mines leads the women's events with 80 total points.

Adam Lufkin alluded before the meet that the throwers would lead the charge into the conference championship did they ever live up to it.
Friday afternoon was spearheaded by grad student All-American
Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont./Helena Capital) and by junior thrower
Olivia Mikaelian (Albuquerque, N.M./El Dorado) who both broke school records, personal records, and became RMAC Champions on Friday in the weight throw.
Jenks threw a 19.55 in the weight throw to win the RMAC Championship, while Mikaelian threw an 18.41 to take home the weight throw RMAC Championship on the women's side.
The men's distance medley relay team also had a strong showing as they finished second with a time of 10:10.173. Junior
Kaleb Beloy (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage), freshman
Grant Young (Dallas, Texas/Shelton), freshman Nathaniel Swalley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Fountain-Fort Carson), and freshman
Jon Sweepe (Peoria, Ariz./Liberty) brought home eight points for the Pack on the second place showing.
On the women's side of the distance medley, CSU Pueblo had another strong showing as they finished third with a time of 11:58.360. Junior
Camille Renou (Chalonnes, France/AS Saint-Barthelemy), sophomore
Gabrielle Dunich (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Central), sophomore
Jadyn Herron-Jonap (Queen Creek, Ariz./Casteel), and junior
Margot Thomas-Gatel (France/Notre Dame Les Oiseaux) scored six points for the Pack with the third place showing.
CSU Pueblo was also able to get a strong performance out of Sophomore
Mary Scoggins (Rangely, Colo./Rangely) in the 800-meter pentathlon finals as she finished second with a time of 2:25.791.
