OLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that Colorado State University Pueblo sophomore Keturah Templeman has been named the RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Templeman earned the honor following a strong all-around performance at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invitational in Pueblo to open the outdoor season. The reigning All-American highlighted her weekend in the javelin throw, where she recorded a mark of 46.00 meters (150' 11") to finish fourth overall in a field loaded with Division I talent.
Despite finishing fourth, Templeman was the top Division II performer in the event, trailing only three Division I competitors. Her mark not only met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard, but also ranks as the seventh-best throw in Division II so far this outdoor season.
In addition to her success in the javelin, Templeman also showcased her versatility across the throwing events. She posted a personal-best performance in the hammer throw and added a Top 10 finish in the shot put, capping off an impressive opening weekend.
The performance marks a strong start to the outdoor season for Templeman, who is coming off a historic freshman campaign that included All-American honors on the national stage. With an NCAA provisional mark already secured and momentum building, she has quickly reestablished herself as one of the top throwers in Division II.
Templeman and the ThunderWolves will look to carry that momentum forward as CSU Pueblo continues its outdoor schedule in the coming weeks.
