COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two members of the Colorado State University Pueblo men's lacrosse team were named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference First-Team All-Academic Team with eight other ThunderWolves earning a spot on the Academic Honor Roll list as announced by the league office on Thursday.
The two Pack men's lacrosse players named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team were senior defender
Turner Dirk (Strathmore, Alberta/Holy Trinity Academy) and junior defender/LSM
Dalton Vande Lune (Erie, Colo./Erie).
To be eligible for First Team All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 or above cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
First-Team All-Academic members were voted on by the conference's Sports Information Director and student-athletes not votes onto the First Team, and who carry a 3.30 cumulative GPA or higher, automatically qualify for the Honor Roll. The SIDs weren't allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
Dirk and Vande Lune were two of 10 players on the All-Academic Men's Lacrosse Team as Colorado Mesa junior face-off specialist Dylan Checketts was named the league's Men's Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year after carrying a 4.0 GPA in Pre-Business Administration with the Mavericks.
Mesa leads the way with four first team selections, while Westminster was next with three selections. CSU Pueblo had two selection and Adams State had one player selected.
Dirk, who was a two-time member of the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, carries a 3.88 GPA in Business Management, earns his spot on the RMAC First-Team All-Academic Team playing in and starting 14 games and finishing the season tied for first in ground balls with 31 and was second on team in caused turnovers with 10. Dirk also scored a goal and tallied an assist and took a total of 15 shots and put five shots on goal.
Vande Lune earns his spot on the RMAC First-Team All-Academic Team after carrying a 3.56 GPA in Construction Management. Vande Lune played in and started 13 games this season and recorded nine ground balls and caused seven turnovers.

Gardner has now been honored three times, including being a first team selection in 2022, while Naves is also a three-time honoree as he was a first team selection in 2022. Mantei is three-time honor roll selection and Noonan is a two time selection as he was a first team honoree in 2022.
