COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo placed three players on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams that were announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.
The ThunderWolves, who finished the season with a 2-12 overall record and 1-7 mark in the RMAC, named All-RMAC selections were sophomore defender
Bergen Anderson (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest) and junior short stick defensive midfielder
Luke Mummert (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque) were Second-Team selections, while sophomore attacker
Kyle Parker (Hamilton, New Zealand/Northland College) was an Honorable Mention selection.
The All-RMAC Men's Lacrosse teams were voted on by the league's six head coaches and the head coaches couldn't vote for their own players.
Anderson earns his Second-Team honor at defender after finishing tied for second on the team in caused turnovers with 22 and added 12 ground balls and two assists. The 22 caused turnovers are tied for second-most on the school's single-season chart and was tied for fifth in the league in caused turnovers per game at 1.57. He finished the season with three or more caused turnovers in four games, including a career-high five against Westminster. Those five caused turnovers are tied for fifth-most in a game in school history. In RMAC play, Anderson recorded 14 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls and those 14 caused turnovers led the team in league play.
Mummert earns his Second-Team honor at short stick defensive midfielder after finishing the season with 22 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, one goal and one assist for a total of two points. He recorded two or more ground balls in five games, including a career-high five ground balls at Colorado College and caused two or more turnovers in a game four times, including a career-high three at Colorado College. In RMAC play, Mummert tallied 10 ground balls, five caused turnovers, scored his lone goal and had his lone assist. The goal came at Adams State and the assist came in the season finale at home against No. 17 Colorado Mesa.
Anderson and Mummert were joined on the All-RMAC Second Team by Colorado Mesa senior attacker Micah Payton, Concordia Irvine senior attacker Chad McFadden, Adams State senior attacker Dawson Balabanoff, Colorado Mesa fifth-year senior midfielder James Steinke, Colorado Mesa junior midfielder Levi McCoy, Westminster senior midfielder Skyler Weathers, Westminster senior defender Jaxen Wigger, Colorado Mesa junior defender Caden Hathaway, Westminster junior SSDM Andrew Duxbury, Adams State sophomore LSM Hunter Bennett, Westminster junior face-off specialist Jack Fairbanks, Colorado Mesa senior face-off specialist Dylan Checketts, Concordia Irvine junior goalie Daniel Yang and Westminster sophomore goalie Christian Jones.
Parker earns his Honorable Mention honor as an attacker after finishing tied for the team lead in goals with 26 and added 15 assists for a total of 41 points. He also took 83 shots, including 49 shots on goal and tallied 34 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in 14 games. Parker scored two or more goals in a game nine times, including a season-high six goals against Westminster. The six goals are tied for the most in program history, while he had two or more assists in a game four times, including three assists against Concordia Irvine. He was tied for eighth in the league in goals per game at 1.86, ninth in the league in points per game at 2.93 and eighth in the league in shots per game at 5.93. His 26 goals are tied for seventh-most in season in program history, while his 15 assists are tied for ninth in a single season in program history and his 83 shots are fifth-most in season in the program's history. In RMAC play, he scored 17 goals, tallied nine assists for a total of 26 points and added 19 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and took 50 shots, including 31 shots on goal.
Joining Parker as an Honorable Mention All-RMAC selection was Westminster junior midfielder Sean Gragnola.
Along with announcing the 2024 All-RMAC Team, the league also announced the individual award winners for men's lacrosse as Westminster senior Merritt McMahon was named the RMAC Attacker of the Year, while Westminster sophomore Camden Rossi was named the RMAC Midfielder of the Year and Westminster senior Timothy McGuire was named the RMAC Defender of the Year. Adams State sophomore Ryan Berger was named the RMAC Goalie of the Year, while Westminster's Jacob Mendez was the RMAC Freshman of the Year and Adams State's Jerome Austin was tabbed the RMAC Coach of the Year.
The All-RMAC First-Team consists of McMahon, Rossi, McGuire, Berger, Concordia Irvine senior attacker Nick Beeson, Colorado Mesa senior attacker Hunter Holcomb, Colorado Mesa junior attacker JJ Brummett, Westminster senioe midfielder Joseph Celentano, Adams State junior midfielder Kris Owens, Colorado Mesa sophomore midfielder Dillon Pless, Concordia Irvine senior defender Braden Schneider, Colorado Mesa fifth-year senior defender Riley Fisher, Colorado Mesa sophomore SSDM Deuce Kirschke, Colorado Mesa senior LSM Trey Corkin III and Concordia Irvine senior face-off specialist Cade Poe.
