Roadrunners leave Thunderwolves in the dust

DENVER, Colo. (January 18, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball could not keep up with Metro State University Denver Friday in an 82-51 loss.
 
Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Pack with 16 points. She also had three of the team's five steals.
 
Sydni Williams (So., Little Rock, Ark.) scored 12 points. Williams swatted two Roadrunner shots.
 
Khiya Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) totaled 10 points. Adams had six rebounds. She went 4-of-5 at the line.
 
Lauren Heyn (Sr., Penryn, Calif.) played her first game in almost two months. She had two rebounds in nine minutes.
 
The Pack came out on fire, taking an 8-2 lead 1:33 into the game. Midway through the first the momentum shifted as the Roadrunners unleashed a 15-2 run to jump in front 22-13 after one.
 
MSU Denver never looked back as they used another 8-0 swing to make it 31-15. They led 47-22 at the break.
 
CSU-Pueblo could not close the gap in the second half. The Roadrunners led by as many as 36 as they ran away with an 81-52 win.
 
The Pack now stands at 8-8 with a 6-4 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. MSU Denver improved to 6-10 (5-5 RMAC).
 
The ThunderWolves will look to snap their first three-game losing streak in 13 years Saturday when they play Chadron State College at 5:30 p.m. CSU-Pueblo has won its last 21 meetings against the Eagles.
