Pack WBB smashes Skyhawks 70-53

PUEBLO, Colo. (December 8, 2018) – Led by a 22-point performance by Khiya Adams, Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball defeated Fort Lewis College 70-53 Saturday night at Massari Arena.
 
The Pack dominated the Skyhawks on the glass 47 to 33. CSU-Pueblo has won its last 12 meetings against the Skyhawks.
 
Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) netted her 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting. She finished with six rebounds. Adams averaged 22.5 points per game for the weekend.
 
Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored 18 points on 7-of -17 shooting. She made two of the Pack's three 3-pointers. Knafelc pulled down seven rebounds and dished out six assists.
 
JaNaiya Davis (Fr., Hewitt, Texas) added eight points. Davis delivered three steals, six assists, six rebounds, and a block.
 
The Pack rushed out to a 6-0 lead. They held that lead the entire first quarter, clinging  to a 20-15 edge after one.
 
An 8-2 run gave the Pack a double-digit lead midway through the quarter. The Skyhawks would cut the lead back to single digits, making it 33-26 at the half. Adams scored 12 points in the first half. Knafelc tacked on 10.
 
The Skyhawks trimmed the Pack's lead to two making it 37-35 just three minutes into the second half.  The ThunderWolves unleashed a 16-6 run of their own to make it 53-41. They led 55-43 after three.
 
CSU-Pueblo scored the first seven points of the third quarter to make their lead 19. They rolled to a 70-53.
 
The Pack never trailed as they improved to 3-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. They are 5-4 overall. Fort Lewis fell to 4-4 (1-2 RMAC).
