PUEBLO, Colo. (April 20, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's golf team competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship this week with an eye on capturing its third conference title in the last four years. The two-day event begins Monday in Avondale, Ariz. at the Cold Water Golf Club.

At last season's RMAC Championship, CSU-Pueblo placed three players in the top-10 on the leaderboard en route to a dominating 15-shot victory. Julie Sanchez (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) led the way with an 8-over 152. Leina Kim (Jr., Saipan, CNMI) placed third in the event with a 36-hole score of 9-over 153.
The Pack have won two out of the last three conference titles, winning their first in 2012 and finishing second in 2013 before placing first in 2014.
This season, the ThunderWolves have placed in the top-5 in three tournaments, including a season-best second-place finish at the Samuel Proal Insurance Wolf Pack Invitational. As a team, CSU-Pueblo owns a scoring average of 324.6.
Kim leads the team, the RMAC and the nation with a 72.9 scoring average. The junior has placed in the top-10 in all seven tournaments she has played in this season, including wins at the Samuel Proal Insurance Wolf Pack Invitational, RMAC #1 Tournament, Mustang Women's Fall Intercollegiate and WTAMU Lady Buff Invitational.
For the season, Sanchez owns a 77.25 scoring average, which ranks her 87th nationally. She has finished in the top 10 in five out of the team's eight tournaments this season.
Natasha Navarro (So., San Antonio, Texas) and Danielle DuPont (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) round out the lineup for the Pack. Navarro owns an 88.3 average, while DuPont has a 94.4 mark.

The course - Coldwater Golf Club
The Forrest Richardson designed Coldwater golf course has large, shaped features that go well beyond the run-of-the-mill mound or hill. The result is a combination of spectacular elevated tees, deep swales and cascading fairways. The course features rolling terrain and dramatic, undulating golf holes. The setting of Coldwater is framed by mountain views, native grasses, meandering washes, and two placid lakes. No two holes are the same. Each is unique and sets up many different options. Every shot presents a thought provoking approach, yet the layout is forgiving and loads of fun.
