PHOENIX, Ariz. (GoThunderWolves.com - Sept. 4, 2010)
- On a neutral field Saturday, CSU-Pueblo was on the short
end of a 3-0 loss to Cal State-San Bernardino, the 25th-ranked team
in the nation.
CSU-Pueblo was out-shot 17-5, getting only three shots on
goal. Meanwhile, the Pack met a strong forward in CSUSB's top
scorer, Obi Agwu, who netted two goals against the
ThunderWolves.
Pack coach Roy Stanley said that the ThunderWolves were still
showing signs of a young team and were still experiencing growing
pains.
"After the first 20 minutes, we played with less nerves and
apprehension, but ultimately, we didn't do a good enough job
shutting down their top forward," Stanley said.
"I felt we had good keeper play [from Jacob Blum and Patrick
Markis], but we didn't give them a lot of help in front of
them, and we were disappointed. I felt like we needed to show
our determination with our work rate, and they just outworked us
today."
CSU-Pueblo will travel to Texas next weekend for games against
Midwestern State (Tex.) and Northeastern State (Okla.) before
returning home Sept. 15 for its home opener under the lights
against Montana State-Billings.
