Carla Sanchez Guareno (Sr., Tarragona, Spain) delivered one of the strongest meets of her CSU Pueblo career, turning in multiple season-best swims and leading the Pack to a runner-up team finish with 499.1 points. The backstroke specialist shined brightest in the 200 IM, where she captured the event title with a season-best time of 2:12.65, headlining a 1-2 ThunderWolves finish.
She also produced a clutch performance in her signature event, the 100 backstroke, racing to a season-best 59.70 to finish runner-up, an achievement made even sweeter as she competed on her birthday.
Sanchez Guareno's consistency, versatility, and leadership set the tone for CSU Pueblo throughout the two-day meet, helping the Pack outperform both Division II opponents in the field.
Up next for Pack swim, they head to Oklahoma City this week and will compete at the Eagle Invite Nov. 14-16.
