Shamahra Henderson (Jr., Denver, Colo.) helped to lead the women's basketball team to a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament berth and earned the 8-seed in the tournament.
In the last road games of the regular season, Henderson was a close down defender for the ThunderWolves while on the court.Â
In Friday's road contest at UCCS, Henderson scored two points, two boards, two steals and an assist for the Pack in a 65-59 loss to the Mountain Lions. On Saturday at Regis, Henderson scored two points, two rebounds, two steals, and a pair of assists. Her plus/minus was the highest on the night against the Rangers.
On Tuesday, in a RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal match-up, the ThunderWolves went on the road to Grand Junction and faced top-seed Colorado Mesa and the ThunderWolves came away with a 66-57 victory to stay alive in the RMAC Tournament.
In the game, Henderson brought down three rebounds, a steal and recorded an assist. She earned a +7 while on the court and was instrumental on the defensive side of the ball, holding the potent Mavericks lineup who entered the day at No. 2 in the latest WBCA Regional Rankings to just 30.4% shooting from the field and 5-of-20 from behind the 3-point line.
