GREENWOOD, Ind. – Colorado State University Pueblo women's cross country and track and field standout Jadyn Herron was named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division II Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America® First Team, as announced Tuesday by the organization.
The honor marks the second consecutive year Herron has earned CSC Academic All-America® honors. After being named a Second Team Academic All-American in 2024-25, Herron moved up to the First Team in 2025-26. She was one of just 16 student-athletes selected to this year's NCAA Division II First Team and one of eight repeat Academic All-America® honorees named to the First Team.
Herron, a native of Queen Creek, Ariz., has maintained a perfect 4.00 grade-point average throughout both her undergraduate and graduate studies in social work. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at CSU Pueblo.
In addition to her success in the classroom, Herron played a key role in one of the most successful years in CSU Pueblo women's cross country and track and field history.
During the fall, Herron helped lead the Pack women's cross country team to a 10th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships in Kenosha, Wis.
She continued her success during the indoor track and field season as a member of CSU Pueblo's national championship distance medley relay team. Herron joined Gabrielle Dunich, Charlotte Young and Helen Braybrook to defend the Pack's national title while establishing an NCAA Division II record with a time of 11:08.20 at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Va.
Herron concluded the 2025-26 athletic year by earning First Team All-America honors during the outdoor season. She finished fifth nationally in the women's 1,500 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emporia, Kan.
The Academic All-America® honor adds to an accomplished year for Herron, who helped the CSU Pueblo women's cross country and track and field program earn the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Women's Program of the Year award.
Twenty-three of the 45 student-athletes selected to the 2025-26 NCAA Division II Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America® teams hold a perfect 4.00 grade-point average in their undergraduate or graduate studies. The 16 First Team selections combined for an average undergraduate GPA of 3.91, while the entire 45-member Academic All-America® team recorded an average undergraduate GPA of 3.86.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, student-athletes must be selected as CSC Academic All-District® honorees and meet the organization's academic and athletic requirements.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist College Sports Communicators with the awards fulfillment aspects of the program.
