PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo student-athletes Jon Sweepe and Jadyn Herron have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Track & Field/Cross Country Team, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments both in competition and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees are selected based on their combined athletic and academic achievements and advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Sweepe, a native of Peoria, Arizona, capped off one of the most accomplished careers in recent ThunderWolves history by earning Academic All-District honors. The Construction Management major carries a 3.878 cumulative grade-point average while establishing himself as one of the premier distance runners in NCAA Division II.
The senior recently added another prestigious accolade to his résumé when he was named the 2025-26 CSU Pueblo Male Athlete of the Year, recognizing his impact across the athletic department as both a competitor and leader. During the 2025-26 campaign, Sweepe served as a cornerstone of the ThunderWolves' nationally-ranked cross country and track & field programs, helping CSU Pueblo compete among the nation's elite. He concluded his career by qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 5,000-meter run and was instrumental in helping the ThunderWolves achieve success throughout the conference, regional and national levels.
Herron, a native of Queen Creek, Arizona, also earned CSC Academic All-District recognition following another remarkable year representing the ThunderWolves. The graduate student boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing her Master of Social Work degree and has become one of the top distance runners in NCAA Division II.
During the fall, Herron helped lead the ThunderWolves women's cross country team to the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships, where CSU Pueblo posted a 10th-place finish nationally. Throughout the season, she played a key role in helping the ThunderWolves remain among the nation's premier distance-running programs.
Herron continued her outstanding campaign during the outdoor track and field season, earning All-America honors in the 1,500-meter run after placing fifth at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas. Her success on the track was matched by her excellence in the classroom, where she maintained a perfect graduate-level academic record.
The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. Student-athletes selected to the Academic All-District® Team are eligible for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with the 2025-26 Academic All-America® Teams scheduled to be announced in July.
With their selections, Sweepe and Herron continue a proud tradition of academic and athletic excellence for ThunderWolf Athletics. Their accomplishments during the 2025-26 academic year helped CSU Pueblo remain among the nation's premier NCAA Division II programs while exemplifying the commitment to success in the classroom and in competition that defines Colorado State University Pueblo Athletics.
