LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's and women's cross country teams both turned in impressive performances Saturday morning as each squad earned a runner-up team finish at the 2026 Bob Timmons Rim Rock XC Classic at Rim Rock Farm.
Both ThunderWolf squads finished behind NCAA Division I host Kansas, while placing ahead of several Division I and regional programs.
On the women's side, the Pack put together an outstanding team performance in the 5K, placing five runners inside the top 13 overall to finish second with 44 points. CSU Pueblo finished only behind Kansas, which won the meet with 31 points, while the ThunderWolves finished ahead of Rockhurst, Oral Roberts, William Woods, Kansas City and Baker.
Senior Charlotte Young led the way for the Pack as she crossed the finish line sixth overall with a time of 18:47.1. Young was followed closely by junior Lily Smithson, who finished seventh in 19:10.0.
Freshman Alyssa Kulesa made an immediate impact in her first appearance for the ThunderWolves, finishing eighth overall with a time of 19:13.1. Senior Harriett Tuson followed with a 12th-place finish in 19:27.4, while freshman Sofia Camacho rounded out CSU Pueblo's five scoring runners by placing 13th in 19:31.7.
The Pack's five scorers were separated by just 44.6 seconds, with all five crossing the line inside the top 13.
Freshman Lila Flo was the sixth ThunderWolf across the finish line, placing 18th in 19:55.2, while sophomore Ella Egizio finished 30th with a time of 21:16.8. Annie Roberds and Jocelyn Olson also competed for the Pack, finishing in 22:43.8 and 23:38.5, respectively.
The CSU Pueblo men were equally impressive in the 6K race, placing three runners inside the top nine overall and finishing second in the team standings with 55 points. Kansas won the men's race with 24 points, while the Pack finished ahead of Oral Roberts, Haskell Indian Nations, Kansas City, Rockhurst, Baker and William Woods.
Junior Jon Sweepe paced the ThunderWolves with a sixth-place finish after completing the 6K course in 18:31.6. Sophomore Caden Schweer was right behind Sweepe, finishing seventh overall in 18:37.9.
Freshman Ricky Diaz gave the Pack its third runner inside the top 10 as he placed ninth overall with a time of 18:44.7.
Senior Kameron Eustace was CSU Pueblo's fourth scorer, crossing the line 17th overall in 19:19.7, while sophomore Caleb McLeod rounded out the Pack's scoring five with a 20th-place finish in 19:27.9.
Junior Tim Anstett finished 23rd in 19:37.2, while freshman Nolhan Burgue placed 29th with a time of 19:47.6. Luke Ware, Nick Hogge and Aaron Roberds also competed for the ThunderWolves, with all three finishing inside the top 40 overall.
CSU Pueblo's five scoring runners combined for a total time of 1:34:41.80 and an average time of 18:56.36, as the Pack finished 12 points ahead of third-place Oral Roberts.
