Football Set to Conclude Spring Practice With Saturday's Red-White Spring Game

Kickoff for Saturday's Spring Game is Set for 1 p.m. in ThunderBowl

PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo head football coach Philip Vigil has announced that his program will conduct its annual spring football scrimmage on Saturday, April 18. The spring game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start in the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl.

Vigil, who is entering his fourth season as the Pack head coach in 2026, and the Pack have been conducting their 15 spring practices since March 9, and the home spring game will mark the 15th and final spring practice for the ThunderWolves.

Fans are encouraged to come out to the ThunderBowl and catch a glimpse of the 2026 ThunderWolves on Saturday at 1 p.m. Later in the day on Saturday, the Pack Football program will host its inaugural Reverse Raffle and Casino Night in the Occhiato Student Center Ballroom beginning at 6 p.m.

The players will be split into Red and White Teams for Saturday's game, and they drafted their teams on Tuesday afternoon. The team captains for the Red Team are junior receiver Marcellus Honeycutt, Jr. (Aurora, Colo./Eastern Washington) and senior defensive lineman Jaylen Booth (Merced, Calif./Merced College), while the White Team captains are senior receiver Dedrek Taylor-Akins (Fontana, Calif./Northeastern State) and senior safety Kahden Rullo (Denver, Colo./Grandview).

Last season, the Pack finished with a 10-2 overall record and posted a 9-0 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for the second consecutive season. The Pack claimed its second straight outright RMAC title and hosted a first-round Super Region 4 NCAA Division II Playoff game.

Vigil's 2026 Pack team opens its season with a 6 p.m. home game in the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl on Thursday, Aug. 27, against Central Missouri. Last season, the Pack collected a 29-24 win over the Mules in Warrensburg, Mo., on Sept. 11.
