BOULDER, Colo. - Colorado State University Pueblo track and field wrapped up its final regular season meet with a full slate of strong efforts across the sprints, middle distance, and hurdles, as the ThunderWolves continued to build momentum heading into next weekend's conference championships.
On the women's side, Kyla Ruzich competed in two events for the Pack, highlighted by a 9.65 showing in the 60-meter hurdles. Ruzich also lined up in the 200-meter run, crossing the line in 25.90 to cap a busy day on the track. In the women's 400 meters, Gabrielle Dunnage delivered a season-best performance, clocking a 57.79. Teammate Riley Wilson also impressed in the event, running a personal-best time of 59.96.
The men's 400 meters featured a deep and competitive group for the ThunderWolves. Caden Howard led the way with a personal-best time of 49.84. Neveh Jones followed closely behind, finishing in 50.20, while Ryan King turned in a season-best effort of 50.22. Sayer Vargues continued the run of strong performances with a personal best of 51.01, and Landon Hadley rounded out the group with a time of 51.04.
In the distance events, Ella Egizio represented the Pack in the women's mile, posting a time of 5:19.24. Leah Martinez competed in the women's 800 meters, finishing in 2:23.19. On the men's side, Canyon Cobbs delivered a highlight performance by winning the men's 800-meter open, crossing the line in 1:56.28 to secure the victory for the ThunderWolves.
With the regular season now complete, Colorado State University Pueblo turns its attention to the postseason. The ThunderWolves will compete next weekend at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, scheduled for Friday and Saturday on the campus of Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado.
