PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field placed six student-athletes on the 2026 Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference First Team and had nine additional student-athletes named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced Monday.
The ThunderWolves' 15 total honorees highlighted another successful year for the program both in competition and in the classroom, as CSU Pueblo continued its tradition of academic and athletic excellence.
Leading the way for the Pack were First Team Academic All-RMAC selections Jadyn Herron and Keturah Templeman on the women's side, along with Caleb McLeod, Xavier Freeman, Tim Anstett and Felipe Castro Engel on the men's side.
Herron, a senior Social Work major carrying a perfect 4.00 GPA, enjoyed one of the finest seasons in NCAA Division II. The Queen Creek, Ariz., native earned First Team All-America honors as part of CSU Pueblo's NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship distance medley relay team before adding outdoor All-America accolades with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Emporia, Kan.
Templeman, a sophomore Elementary Education major with a 4.00 GPA, captured the RMAC Outdoor Championship in the javelin and advanced to the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships. Her success in the classroom mirrored her accomplishments on the field as she earned First Team Academic All-RMAC recognition for the first time in her career.
McLeod, a sophomore Pre-Business major with a 3.88 GPA, capped a remarkable season by winning the NCAA Division II National Championship in the men's 1,500-meter run at the Outdoor National Championships. The native of Fife, Scotland also helped CSU Pueblo earn First Team All-America honors in the distance medley relay during the indoor season.
Freeman, a junior Construction Management major with a 3.80 GPA, established himself among the nation's elite throwers, earning NCAA Division II All-America honors with a runner-up finish in the shot put at the Outdoor National Championships.
Anstett, a junior Business Management major with a 3.72 GPA, qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in the 800-meter run and helped CSU Pueblo's distance medley relay squad earn First Team All-America honors during the indoor season.
Castro Engel, a senior Exercise Science major carrying a 3.90 GPA, earned a third-place finish in the shot put at the RMAC Outdoor Championships with a throw of 15.83 meters while serving as one of the ThunderWolves' top scorers in the throws throughout the season.
In addition to its six First Team selections, CSU Pueblo placed nine student-athletes on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.
Representing the women's team were Febe Wessels, Gabrielle Dunich, Helen Braybrook, Kyla Ruzich, Leyah Martinez, Mary Scoggins and Riley Wilson.
Wessels capped her collegiate career as one of the top throwers in NCAA Division II history, claiming the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in the shot put before earning a runner-up finish in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Braybrook continued her historic career by earning NCAA Division II runner-up honors in the 1,500-meter run at the Outdoor National Championships after establishing herself as one of the most decorated distance runners in program history.
Scoggins enjoyed a strong season in the multi-events, highlighted by a third-place finish in the heptathlon at the RMAC Outdoor Championships with 4,761 points.
Martinez and Wilson provided valuable depth for the ThunderWolves in the sprint events throughout the season, while Dunich and Ruzich earned recognition for their academic achievements.
On the men's side, Lukas Moran and Maverik Mertens were named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll after excelling in the classroom while contributing to the success of the ThunderWolves program.
The Academic All-RMAC teams recognize student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both athletically and academically. Nominees for First Team Academic All-RMAC must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, have completed at least two consecutive semesters at their institution and be a starter or key reserve. First Team selections are voted upon by the RMAC's athletic communications directors.
CSU Pueblo concluded the 2025-26 season with nine NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship qualifiers, a men's individual national champion, an indoor national championship in the women's distance medley relay and numerous All-America performances, further cementing the ThunderWolves as one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II track and field.
