Bruzon Earns Third RMAC Football Offensive Player of the Week Accolade

Sophomore Quarterback Accounted for Six Touchdowns in No. 4 ThunderWolves' 77-17 Homecoming Victory Over New Mexico Highlands

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 19, 2026) – Colorado State University Pueblo sophomore quarterback Navi Bruzon (Peoria, Ariz./Highland CC) has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Football Player of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Bruzon earns his third RMAC Offensive Player of the Week accolade following another outstanding performance in the fourth-ranked ThunderWolves' 77-17 Homecoming victory over New Mexico Highlands Saturday afternoon at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl. The victory extended the Pack's overall winning streak to seven consecutive games and its RMAC winning streak to 30 straight games, which is the longest active conference winning streak in NCAA Division II football.

Against the Cowboys, the sophomore signal caller and two-time Arizona Gatorade High School Player of the Year completed 68 percent of his passes as he was 17-for-25 passing for 282 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes without an interception. He finished the contest with a passing efficiency rating of 228.8 and also scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 12:12 remaining in the third quarter to give the Pack a commanding 42-3 advantage.

Bruzon, who accounted for six of the Pack's 10 touchdowns in the victory, tossed touchdown passes of eight, 60, one, four and 25 yards and finished the afternoon with 279 yards of total offense. His six touchdowns accounted for in the game increased his season total to 28, including 23 passing touchdowns and five rushing scores.

In addition to his five touchdown passes, Bruzon was responsible for five offensive plays of 20 or more yards, highlighted by a 60-yard touchdown strike to Marcellus Honeycutt, Jr. The 60-yard scoring pass marked Bruzon's fifth completion of at least 60 yards this season, with all five of those plays resulting in touchdowns.

Bruzon was especially effective in the opening half as he directed the ThunderWolves to a season-high 35 first-half points. He completed 15 of his 22 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in the opening 30 minutes to help the Pack build a 35-3 halftime advantage.

Saturday's performance continued an impressive stretch of consistency for Bruzon, who has now recorded six games with at least 260 yards of total offense and has thrown for more than 280 yards in five of his seven starts this season. He has also thrown at least two touchdown passes in all seven games, including three contests with four or more touchdown passes.

Behind Bruzon's performance, the ThunderWolves put together one of the most prolific offensive performances in program history as they scored a season-high 77 points, the second-highest single-game point total in school history and the most points ever scored by the Pack in a Homecoming contest. The Pack offense finished the afternoon with 616 yards of total offense, averaged 8.3 yards per play and recorded 31 first downs. CSU Pueblo passed for 341 yards and six touchdowns while adding 275 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground. The ThunderWolves averaged 6.2 yards per rushing attempt and finished the contest with 10 offensive touchdowns.

Through the first seven games of the 2026 season, Bruzon has completed 124 of his 190 pass attempts for 2,080 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 65.3 percent of his passes. He enters this week's action averaging 297.1 passing yards per game and owns a passing efficiency rating of 194.0. Additionally, he has accounted for 28 of the ThunderWolves' 46 touchdowns this season.

Bruzon also continues to rank among the national leaders in several offensive statistical categories. Entering this week's action, he is tied for second in NCAA Division II in touchdown passes (23), tied for second nationally in points responsible for (168), seventh in passing yards per game (297.1), eighth in passing yards (2,080) and eighth in total offense per game (313.4).

In addition to Bruzon, the league named Chadron State senior linebacker Liam Blaser as the Defensive Player of the Week and Western Colorado junior kicker/punter JT Miller was named the Special Team Player of the Week.

Bruzon and the fourth-ranked ThunderWolves (7-0 overall, 5-0 RMAC) return to action this coming Saturday, Oct. 24, when they travel to Durango, Colo., to face Fort Lewis in RMAC action.
