GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo ThunderWolves Track and Field teams wrapped up a strong opening day at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Outdoor Championships in Golden, Colorado, on the campus of Colorado School of Mines.
The ThunderWolves men's squad sits in fourth place with 19 points, while the women's team finished the day in eighth place with three points.
In the men's javelin finals, Ian Thomas led the way with a second-place finish, earning All-RMAC honors thanks to a mark of 57.56 meters. Moosah Alsaffar also impressed, landing in fourth place with a strong throw of 55.74 meters.
The ThunderWolves continued their momentum in the men's hammer throw, where Lukas Moran unleashed a personal-best toss of 57.71 meters, good for third place and another All-RMAC honor.
Middle-distance standouts Helen Braybrook and Reece Sharman-Newell both advanced to the 1500-meter finals. Braybrook clocked the fastest qualifying time in the women's prelims, winning her heat in 4:40.93, while Sharman-Newell, a fellow English native, placed third overall in the men's prelims with a 3:52.31. Joining him in the finals will be teammate Jon Sweep, who finished in 3:58.08.
In the women's 400-meter prelims, Janise Everett secured her spot in the finals, qualifying third with a solid time of 56.70 seconds.
Tyrrell Smith, CSU Pueblo's All-American sprinter, continued his dominance by qualifying third in the men's 100-meter dash prelims with a time of 10.67 seconds, booking his spot in tomorrow's final.
The night concluded with a standout performance in the women's 10,000-meter run finals, as Sarah Rindberg shattered both her personal best and the school record, finishing sixth overall with a time of 37:18.42.
Day two of the RMAC Championships resumes tomorrow at 10:40 a.m. with the men's decathlon finals, and the ThunderWolves are poised to build on their momentum with a full slate of athletes ready to compete.
