GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field sent its long-distance runners to the Colorado School of Mines Kitt Mayer Classic this weekend, showcasing solid performances in the 10,000-meter events.
On the women's side, Sarah Rendberg led the way for the ThunderWolves with a strong showing in the 10,000 meters, finishing third overall with a time of 37:59.88. Teammate Lily Smithson also represented CSU Pueblo well, claiming ninth place in the event with a time of 40:24.14.
For the men, Lucas Westbrook was the top performer, placing 12th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:34.33. Close behind was Joseph Harker, who clocked in at 32:36.08 to secure 13th place. Rounding out the ThunderWolves' efforts was Matthew Roberds, who placed 15th with a time of 32:54.83.
This meet wraps up the weekend competition for CSU Pueblo, who will finish the regular season next week at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, from April 16–18. The ThunderWolves will then gear up for the RMAC Championships, set for April 25–26 back in Golden, Colorado.
