Track & Field Shines on Home Track At The Chuck Haering Classic; Braybrook Breaks 800 School Record

sPUEBLO, Colo - The Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field squad delivered a strong showing at the Chuck Haering Classic on their home track, with several standout performances across multiple events.

On the women's side, Margot Thomas-Gatel finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run, clocking 17:15.98. In the 400-meter dash, Janise Everett claimed victory with a time of 56.62, while Gabrielle Dunich took second in 57.24.

The 800-meter run saw Helen Braybrook capture the win in 2:04.11, followed by teammate Leah Keisler, who placed third in 2:05.98. Braybrook, who is coming off a historic cross country and indoor track season picked up right where she left off in indoor, as the Indoor National Champion broke the 800m school record, previously held by Pack Alumni Superstar Yasmine Hernandez.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Dunich, Keisler, Jadyn Herron, and Braybrook added another victory for CSU Pueblo, crossing the finish line in 3:47.39.

In the field events, Keturah Templeman took the top spot in the women's javelin, throwing 39 meters. Katherine Higgins' shot put win will be made official soon.

On the men's side, Jon Sweepe, fresh off Indoor Nationals, put up a strong effort in the 1,500-meter run, finishing second in 3:49.34.

CSU Pueblo dominated the 800-meter run, securing the top three spots: Reece Sharman-Newell won in 1:47.22, followed by Emil Meggle in 1:48.06 and Tim Anstett in 1:49.47.

In the 200-meter dash, Tyrell Smith sprinted to victory with a time of 21.23. Kaleb Beloy secured another win for CSU Pueblo in the 3,000-meter run, clocking 8:45.52. The men's 4x400 relay team of Ryan King, Meggle, Caleb McLeod, and Sharman-Newell claimed first place in 3:12.92.

In the field events, Ian Thomas won the men's javelin with a throw of 60.70 meters, while Xavier Freeman took second in the shot put with a mark of 17.16 meters.

CSU Pueblo's athletes showcased their depth and talent throughout the meet, securing multiple victories and podium finishes in front of their home crowd. The Pack are back in action on April 4th at home once again, as they host the Spank Blasing Invitational.
