PUEBLO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Golf team concluded the 2025 Southern Colorado Open Home Event at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo with a third place finish in the strong Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference field.
Walking Stick Golf Course, which usually plays extremely difficult for the women in the spring time in Southern Colorado, was playing right at 6000 yards this week. Walking Stick maxes out at a 69.0 course rating for the women.
CSU Pueblo finished in third place with a team score of 26 over par (300-302), finishing one shot back of the powerhouse junior college program; New Mexico Junior College. NCAA West Region opponent and No. 21 Simon Fraser University (Canada) won the event, shooting 20 over for the two-days.
Lisa Ekberg led the way for the ThunderWolves, as the talented Swede shot two rounds of 74 to finish the week four-over par. Ekberg, who will be in line for RMAC Player of the Week finished in a tie for fourth place this week.
The other talented European for the Pack;
Freya Constable picked up another collegiate top-10 finish, as the Scot finished in a tie for 10th place, shooting rounds of 75-76 to finish the week at seven over par.
Alyssa McMillen finished in third for the Pack with rounds of 77-76, while freshman sensation
Yale Lee shot rounds of 79-76 this week.
Pueblo Native
Zoey Rodriguez rounded out the scoring for the Pack with a solid first round score of 74, and concluded day two with a round of 77.
UP NEXT FOR THE PACK
The ThunderWolves will head to the southwest and play in Tucson, Ariz. next week at the West Texas A&M Desert Invitational at Ventana Canyon Golf Club. The Pack will stay in Arizona and conclude the regular season in Phoenix later that week, before ramping up for the RMAC Championships.
