ALAMEDA, Calif. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Golf team kicked off their spring season at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay at Corica Park Golf Course right outside of Oakland.
The Pack sit in a tie for tenth place out of 19 teams in the heavy West Region field after shooting a first round twenty over (308) par score. Cal State East Bay and Biola University lead the event after shooting three over (291) par rounds.
Alyssa McMillen and
Yale Lee both shot rounds of three-over par (75) to lead the way for the Pack in round one. McMillen and Lee both sit in a tie for 22nd place individually.
Freya Constable and
Lisa Ekberg both shot rounds of seven-over par (79) rounds to sit in 51st place.
Rounding out the scoring for the top 5 for the Pack was
Zoey Rodriguez. Rodriguez shot an opening round of 14-over (86) to sit in 95th place.
Competing as an individual for the Pack was freshman
Sinead Ni Cheilleachair, as the young Irishwoman shot 15-over in round one.
