DURANGO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball squad marched into Durango and picked up a huge road win over Fort Lewis College to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
With the win, the Pack improve to 16-9 overall and 11-6 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. With the loss for the gritty Fort Lewis Skyhawks, they now fall to 6-19 overall and 3-14 in conference play.
The ThunderWolves were led by two-time All-American forward
Alisha Little, as the frontrunner for the RMAC Player of the Year had another stellar performance. Little put together her NCAA leading 21st double-double with 30 points on 12-24 shooting from the field and 16 rebounds. Little also added two more blocks and two more steals to her historic defensive career.
Leading the way for Fort Lewis was Deniece Ryan as she went for 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the field.

CSU Pueblo was in complete control of the game, until Fort Lewis made a late fourth quarter charge, cutting the lead down to three late down the stretch after trailing by 21 in the second half. Little proved why she is the best player in the country as she picked up two huge blocks down the stretch to secure the victory for the Pack.
The Pack started off the game nicely with an opening quarter seven point lead behind
Brynae Stewart's five points. Stewart was able to go 1-1 from deep and pulled down three boards to put the Pack out in front comfortably. In the quarter, the Pack proved why they are one of the best defensive squads in the RMAC as they held the Skyhawks to just 29 percent shooting from the field in the first.
The ThunderWolves were dominant in the second quarter, shooting a scorching hot 50 percent from the field. The Pack were also able to shoot 38 percent from deep in the second, taking a 17 point lead into halftime. In the second, Little took over, scoring nine points to nearly secure a double double by halftime.
CSU Pueblo led 41-24 at the break.
Fort Lewis made their run in the third quarter, outscoring the ThunderWolves 20-12 in the third. Little had 10 out of the 12 points in the third to up her total to 22 & 11 going into the final frame.
Up 53-44 at the start of the fourth, the Pack continued to feed Little as she opened the quarter off with an easy layup. Fort Lewis countered with a 6-0 run to cut the lead down to five at 56-51, but CSU Pueblo showed their resielliance with a 7-0 run of their own with buckets from Little and a huge three from
Landri Hudson.
Up 63-51 and just five and a half minutes remaining, the Pack could smell a victory. The Skyhawks had other plans and had one last punch left in them, going on a 10-0 run the next three minutes to cut the lead down to 63-61 with 1:40 left to go.
CSU Pueblo was able to grind it out and put on the clamps, keeping Fort Lewis off the scoreboard for the next minute, before a big stop from
Tosjanae Bonds led to a huge offensive rrebound from
Shamahra Henderson where she was fouled and iced the game with two big free throws at the 0:26 mark.
CSU Pueblo was able to get another stop and eventually held off the Skyhawks to win 66-61.
The Pack will look to extend its win streak to two straight games as they travel to Alamosa, Colo., for a 1 p.m. game at Adams State. The Pack picked up a 77-60 win at home over the Grizzlies on Jan. 23.
