ALLENDALE, Mich./Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field squad took their talents in split squad action to Michigan and Colorado Springs this weekend, continuing their dominance just like they have all season.
CSU Pueblo took home 14 more NCAA Provisionals over the weekend at both venues. CSU Pueblo sent squads to both Grand Valley State University to compete in the GVSU Big Meet, and to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to compete in the Mountain Lion Open.
The ThunderWolves took home seven NCAA Proivsionals on Friday at Grand Valley State.Â
Helen Braybrook won the Women's One Mile Invite with a time of 4:39.25 to pick up another NCAA Provisional.
Leah Keisler joined in on the fun and punched in an NCAA Provisional in the Women's 800 Meter Run with a fifth place finish and a time of 2:08.54.
Camille Renou,
Jadyn Herron, and
Margot Thomas-Gatel all dominated in distance events. Renou finished in seventh place, picking up an NCAA Provisional and a time of 9:39.53. Herron finished in fifth place in the mile invite, picking up an NCAA Provisional with a time of 4:44.74. Thomas-Gatel ran in the first wave in the 5000 Meter Run, finishing in 13th place with a time of 17:02.94 to add another NCAA Provisional to her arsenal.
On the men's side on Friday,
Reece Sharman-Newell continued to be one of the most dominate mid-distance runners in the nation, as the Englishman ran a 4:03.69 in the One Mile Invite to finish third and pick up an NCAA Provisional.
The 4x400 Relay squad of
Ryan King,
Tim Anstett,
Emil Meggle, and
Tyrell Smith also joined in on the run as the relay squad ran a school record in the event, picking up an NCAA Provisional and a time of 3:13.10.
Keisler won the Women's Mile on Saturday with a time of 4:47.20 to pick up an NCAA Provisional.Â
The DMR Squad of Braybrook, Renou, Herron, and
Gabrielle Dunich took home the gold in the event, running an outstanding time of 11:17.59 to punch their ticket to Nationals with an NCAA Provisional.
Anstett and
Kaleb Tipton both picked up NCAA Provisionals in the Men's 800 Meters, finishing in second and third respectively. Anstett ran a time of 1:50.98, while Tipton ran a time of 1:51.53.
The DMR squad of
Jon Sweepe, Smith, Meggle, and Sharman-Newell won the event with a time of 9:39.75 to pick up an NCAA Provisional.
In Colorado Springs, both
Katherine Higgins and
Febe Wessels both picked up NCAA Provisionals in the Women's Shot Put. Higgins had a mark of 15.14 in the event, while Wessels had a mark of 14.85.
