PUEBLO, Colo. (February 14, 2025) - The Colorado State University Pueblo wrestling team dropped its regular season finale against Chadron State 30-12 on Friday at Massari Arena.
In the match,
Eddie Bowman (Fr., Trinidad, Colo.),
Hayden Tuma (Fr., Boise, Idaho),
Aaron Concepcion (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska)Â and
Solomon Arnds-Volcin (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) all were victorious for the ThunderWolves.
CSU Pueblo started the match OPEN at 125 and in the first match-up at 133, Bowman faced James Davis and after a scoreless first period, Bowman quickly escaped to start the second period.
Later in the period, Davis scored a take down and took a 3-1 lead heading to the last period.
Davis chose neutral to start and Bowman made quick work and took a 4-3 lead with a take down and while in control, Davis was called for a second stalling and gave Bowman another point.
With under a minute, Davis was able to escape and Bowman stood strong over the final seconds in defending his 5-4 victory.
In the 141 pound match, Tuma battled against Cyrus Wells and after neither scored in the first period, Wells earned a one-point escape during the second which set up an exciting third and final period.
In the period, Tuma ignited his offense and was awarded one point after a stalling call against Wells. Later, Tuma was able to escape and quickly turned around for the three-point take down, securing the 6-2 win.
At 165, Concepcion was pitted against Tayten Gillette and was able to get a first period take down and before the end of the period, Gillette earned the one point escape.
Choosing to start the second period neutral, Concepcion scored another take down, along with another escape for Gillette brought the score to 6-2.
In the third, Gillette recorded an escape and strong defense led Concepcion to the 6-3 victory.
For Arnds-Volcin in his 174 pound match against Logan Berger, he went down 1-0 in the second after Berger escaped and in the third, Arnds-Volcin started on bottom and would get the escape and later earned a take down to bring home the 4-1 victory.

Up Next, CSU Pueblo goes to Golden on Sunday and will compete at the Mines Open in the final tune-up before the NCAA Super Regional, set for Saturday, March 1 in Gunnison, hosted by Western Colorado.
