LAKEWOOD, Colo. - the Coloraod State University Pueblo Women's Basketball squad picked up their second straight road win in Lakewood as the ThunderWolves knocked off Colorado Christian University at the CCU Event Center.
With the win, the Pack are now 15-8 overall and 10-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, sitting just half a game behind Western Colorado and Black Hills State for second place in league play. The Pack have the tiebreaker advantage over Western Colorado, but do not over Black Hills State. With the loss for CCU, the Cougars now fall to 8-15 overall and 6-9 in conference play.
Leading the way for the Pack was their superstar
Alisha Little, as the 2x All-American dropped 35 points on 12-20 shooting from the field. 35 points is Little's career high and has tied that number numerous times the last two seasons. Little finished with another double-double, her 19th of the season which leads the nation. In addition to her 35 points, Little pulled down 12 boards, recorded four blocks, and had one steal.
The Pack only led by two points going into the fourth quarte, but once again, the Pack led up to their motto; Toughest Team Wins, outscoring CCU by seven points in the quarter to take home the road victory.
ABOUT THE WIN
The Pack took and early 15-7 lead after a solid first quarter from Little, who led all scorers with six points. The Pack were able to hold CCU to just 36 percent shooting from the field in the opening quarter. The Pack allowed CCU to get back in the game in the second quarter, as the Cougars tied the game going into the break at 35 apiece.
The ThunderWolves have a knack for playing well in the second half of games and did just that in Lakewood on Tuesday night. CSU Pueblo took a two point lead going into the fourth quarter, but dominated the fourth quarter to pick up another road victory.
The Pack, who are normally domiant at home, have now gotten their road record to 5-5 away from Massari Arena.Â
