Women's Basketball Concludes Non-Conference Play With 70-50 Win at Northern New Mexico

Bobb, Owens and Roffle Combine for 35 Points in Pack's Third Straight Victory

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team used a balanced offensive attack and stifling defense to pull away from Northern New Mexico for a 70–50 non-conference road victory here Wednesday night at the NNMC Wellness Center.

With the victory, the Pack extends its win streak to three straight games and improves its record to 7-5 on the season, while Northern New Mexico fell to 5-8. The win helped the Pack conclude non-conference play with a 4-4 record, including going 2-0 against Northern New Mexico.

The Pack opened the game with a strong defensive effort, holding the Eagles to just eight points in the first quarter while building a 21-8 lead. After both teams scored nine points in the second quarter, the Pack carried a 30-17 advantage into halftime.

CSU Pueblo shot 44.4 percent from the field in the third quarter and followed with a 46.2 percent performance in the fourth quarter as the Pack outscored the Eagles, 40-23, in the second half to post the 20-point road victory.

For the game, the Pack shot 33.8 percent from the field, 25 percent (9-for-36) from the 3-point line, and was 15-for-17 (88.2 percent) from the free throw line, including a 7-for-9 effort at the line after halftime.

Freshman forward Jada Bobb (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) paced the Pack offense with a team-high 13 points and added six rebounds. In addition to Bobb, junior forward Anyla Owens (Colorado Springs, Colo./Otero JC) added 12 points on four treys and had six rebounds off the bench as the Pack bench outscored the NNMU bench, 38-11.

In the Pack's 73-49 win earlier this season against the Eagles, Owens tied a school record with nine made treys as she tallied a Pack season-high 30 points.

The third double-digit scorer on the night was junior forward Laci Roffle (Aurora, Colo./MSU Denver), who tallied 10 points and four rebounds in the win. CSU Pueblo's top two scorers – senior guards Seneya Martinez (Windsor, Colo./Appalachian State) and Genesis Sweetwine (Aurora, Colo./Northeastern JC) – combined for nine points on 4-for-20 shooting from the field and 12 rebounds, including a career-high eight boards by Martinez as the Pack held a 49-43 edge on the glass on the night.

Along with winning the rebound battle, the Pack also forced 16 Northern New Mexico turnovers that were turned into 13 points. The Pack had 12 turnovers and nine steals, including three steals from Roffle.

Northern New Mexico was led by Jayden Jenkins, who scored a game-high 19 points and added eight rebounds. Lorianne Bueno added nine points off the bench in the loss.

For the game, the Eagles shot 28.6 percent from the field, 25 percent from the 3-point line, and 66.7 percent (10-for-15) from the free throw line.

The Pack will now take nearly 21 days off (including seven days off as part of the NCAA Division II's mandatory break from Dec. 22-28) before returning to action on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, with a 5:30 p.m. Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game at UCCS in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Pack is 3-1 in RMAC play this season and is currently sitting in a four-way tie for third place in the league standings.
