INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Thanks to its 24-21 come-from-behind win on Saturday at then sixth-ranked Western Colorado this past Saturday, Colorado State University Pueblo is ranked No. 4 in this week's second edition of the NCAA Division II Super Region Four rankings that were released Monday afternoon by the NCAA.
In this week's second iteration of the Super Region Four rankings, the ThunderWolves, who are 8-1 overall and 8-1 in the region following its win at Western Colorado, are one of three teams ranked in the Top 10 this week from Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The NCAA Super Region Four consists of teams from the Great American Conference (GAC), Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the RMAC.
The Pack are joined in this week's rankings by Western Colorado (8-1 D-II, 8-1 in-region) at No. 6 and Chadron State (7-1 D-II, 7-1 in-region) is at No. 7.
Harding (9-0 D-II, 9-0 in-region), who is the automatic qualifier from the GAC, is ranked No. 1 in this week's Super Region Four poll and the Bison are followed in the Super Region Four rankings by Central Washington (8-0 D-II, 8-0 in-region) at No. 2 and Northwest Missouri State (8-1 D-II, 8-1 in-region) is at No. 3.
The Pack is followed in the rankings at No. 5 by Pittsburg State (7-2 D-II, 6-1 in-region), while behind Western Colorado and Chadron State at No. 8 is Western Oregon (6-1 D-II, 6-1 in-region). The final two teams in the rankings at UT-Permian Basin (7-2 D-II, 7-2 in-region) at No. 9 and Southern Arkansas (6-3 D-II, 6-3 in-region) at No. 10.
CSU Pueblo, who is ranked sixth in this week's AFCA Division II Coaches and seventh in the latest D2Football.com Top 25 polls, are sporting an 8-1 overall record and a 7-0 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference heading into Saturday's action at Colorado School of Mines.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the four conference champions (Harding is the first conference champion) from each of the four conferences in the Super Region and the four highest ranked teams (non-conference champions) in the final Super Region 4 rankings will earn a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. The NCAA will announce the 2025 Division II Playoff selections on
www.NCAA.com on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The NCAA Division II Playoffs will consist of 32 teams (16 automatic conference champion qualifiers and 16 at-large teams - four per region) across four regions with the top four teams in the region being seeded. The first round of the playoffs is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22. The national semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 with the championship game scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20 in McKinney, Texas. The semifinals and finals will be broadcast on one of the ESPN broadcast networks.
The Pack will put its seven-game win streak on the line this coming Saturday, Nov. 8 as they travel to Golden, Colo., for a 12 p.m. game at Colorado School of Mines. The Pack enters the game having won 23 straight conference games, which is the longest active conference win streak in Division II football.
