Volleyball Keeps Rolling, Earn Third Straight Win to Stay Third in RMAC

PUEBLO, Colo.  – Colorado State University Pueblo Volleyball continued its late-season surge Tuesday night, defeating Adams State 3–1 (25–21, 23–25, 25–19, 25–12) inside a packed Massari Arena. The win marked the ThunderWolves' third straight victory and solidified their hold on third place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings.

The Pack, now 17–7 overall and 9–3 in RMAC play, put together one of their most balanced offensive efforts of the season, hitting .242 as a team while holding the visiting Grizzlies to just .113.

Senior outside hitter Caelyn Gunn led the way for CSU Pueblo with a team-high 21 kills on .196 hitting, while adding two block assists and 16 digs. The Pack's offensive rhythm flowed through setter Elena Stankovic, who dished out 39 assists and added nine digs and 11 kills of her own while hitting an efficient .588.

Middle blocker Golden Finch chipped in seven kills on .412 hitting with several timely blocks, while Taylor Cary and Finja Schul combined for six kills and strong net presence. Defensively, libero Megan Mattingly anchored the back row with a match-high 22 digs, and the Pack as a team recorded 12.0 total blocks compared to Adams State's 6.0.

CSU Pueblo opened with a convincing 25–21 first-set win behind Gunn's early hot hand and a dominant 7–1 closing run. Adams State answered with a narrow 25–23 win in the second to even the match. From there, the ThunderWolves' front line took over — using a stifling block and quick transition offense to take sets three and four by scores of 25–19 and 25–12.

The Pack's serving was another difference-maker, posting a .969 reception percentage and 11 service aces while forcing Adams State into difficult first-ball contact.

With just a few matches remaining in the regular season, Head Coach Jordan Bruere's squad has hit its stride at the perfect time. CSU Pueblo remains in third place in the RMAC standings and will look to continue its momentum heading into postseason play.
