Volleyball Clinches Spot In RMAC Tourament With Friday Night Sweep Of Western Colorado

PUEBLO, Colo. — CSU Pueblo volleyball delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Friday night, sweeping Western Colorado (25–15, 25–16, 25–18) inside a lively Massari Arena. The victory not only extended the ThunderWolves' momentum down the final stretch—it officially locked the Pack into the 2025 RMAC Tournament with one regular-season match to play.

From the first serve, CSU Pueblo played like a team with something on the line. The Pack burst out to a 5–0 lead in the opening set and never trailed, dictating tempo, pace, and pressure from every position on the floor. Their offense was crisp and balanced, finishing the night with a .351 hitting percentage while holding Western Colorado to just .037.

Golden Finch was a force at the net all match long, finishing with eight kills on .700 hitting and stuffing seven balls defensively. Her presence helped set the tone at the net and anchored a Pack blocking unit that repeatedly shut down Western's attempts to build any momentum. Finja Schul continued her late-season surge with nine kills on an elite .727 clip, and Caelyn Gunn provided yet another signature two-way performance—ten kills, eleven digs, and a well-timed service ace.

Setter Elena Stankovic steered the offense with precision, dishing out 33 assists and spreading the attack in ways that kept Western Colorado off balance all night. The Pack also controlled the back row, out-digging Western 51–38 and thriving in long rallies.

Beyond the sweep itself, Friday's win held major postseason significance. CSU Pueblo entered the weekend ranked sixth in the NCAA South Central Region—comfortably within the top eight that advance to the NCAA Tournament. With regional resumes across the country tightening in November, every win matters, and Friday's sweep served as a strong addition to the Pack's profile. Securing a high seed in the RMAC Tournament would only strengthen their NCAA outlook, giving CSU Pueblo a prime opportunity to make a statement in front of the regional committee.

Now 18–7 overall and 10–3 in RMAC play, the ThunderWolves turn their attention to a high-stakes Senior Night showdown on Saturday against Fort Lewis. A win would not only honor the Pack's senior class—it would lock CSU Pueblo into the No. 3 seed in the RMAC Tournament and keep their NCAA Tournament trajectory on solid footing.

First serve is set for Saturday evening at Massari Arena, where the Pack aim to finish the regular season with another defining performance.
