Royalty Repeats In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field squad continued their Indoor Track dominance over the weekend on the campus of the University of New Mexico, breaking numerous records and elevating Pack Track and Field on the National Stage.

One week after Reece Sharman-Newell (Hampshire, England) put the rest of the track and field world on notice, fellow countrywoman Helen Braybrook (Frieston, United Kingdom) decided it was her turn to show the world that the ThunderWolves are here to stay on the National Front.

Braybrook, a National Runner for Great Britain and All-American for the Pack, showed the NCAA that she is not woman to mess with. Braybrook broke an NCAA Division II record on Friday in the Women's 600 Meter Run with a time of 1:30.40, only trailing Camille Laus, a professional runner from Atlanta by three seconds.

Braybrook said after the meet, "It is an incredible honor to break an NCAA Record. I know what I am capable of doing, and what this team is capable of doing. This is only the start, do not sleep on us."

Braybrook had another successful Saturday, as the Brit dominated the NCAA field in the Women's 800 meters, finishing third, but defeating every NCAA Athlete in the field with a time of 2:05.44 to earn an NCAA Provisional in the event she specializes in.

Jadyn Herron (Queen Creek, Ariz./Casteel), and Leah Keisler (Biggar, United Kingdom) both joined Braybrook in the 800, both having solid races and picking up NCAA Provisional times.

Herron picked up a personal record in the 800, running a time of 2:08.95.

Tyrell Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) had quite the weekend, as the redshirt senior sprinter from Springs broke personal records in both the 200 meter dash and the 300 meter dash. Smith took the Division II world by surprise as he ran a timer of 21.61 in the 200 Invite, and followed it up with a personal record in the 300 with a time of 33.96. Smith's 300 time was seventh all-time in NCAA Division II History.

Camille Renou (Chalonnes, France) won the 3000 Meter Run, defeating numerous Division I and II runners in the field. Renou ended the race with a time of 10:06.61.

Like mentioned before, Sharman-Newell who was coming off a historic weekend, in which saw the Englishman run the fastest time ever on Colorado Soil in the Men's Mile, backed it up with an easy victory in the Men's 3000 Meters, easily taking home the victory with a time of 8:24.03.

UP NEXT FOR THE PACK
The Pack are back in action next weekend, returning back to Albuquerque to compete in the UNM Team Open.
