DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado State Univesity Pueblo women's basketball team dropped their second straight game on Saturday afternoon to the hands of Regis University 85-70 at Regis Fieldhouse in Denver.
The second straight for the Pack is their longest losing streak of the season. The back-to-back losses comes after a nine-game winning streak for the ThunderWolves.
With the loss, the ThunderWolves fall to 11-5, and 6-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, still controlling their own destiny to win the league. The Pack now fall to second place in the conference due to Black Hills State winning on Saturday.
With the win for Regis, the Rangers improve to 7-8 overall, and 5-3 in conference play. The Rangers are the defending RMAC Champions, and now have split the season series with the ThunderWolves at 1-1.
The Pack were led once again by the best player in the country in
Alisha Little (Aurora, Colo./Northern Colorado), as the two-time All-American broke another record, as the redshirt-senior record her 41st career double-double at CSU Pueblo and is now the school record holder in that category.Â
Little is coming off being named the Colorado Women's Collegiate Athlete of the Year for 2024.
Little finished the afternoon with 28 points and 11 rebounds. She leads the country in double-doubles with 12. Little continues to be the leading scorer in the RMAC, averaging 24.4 points per game, and is still in second in boards with 10.6 per game.
Tomia Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./FGCU) and
Brynae Stewart (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) both joined Little in double-figures, both recording 10 points.
The ThunderWolves once againt struggled on the offensive glass, allowing Regis to pull down 53 total rebounds, including 17 offensive rebounds. CSU Pueblo did a solid job after the first quarter, getting some offense going in the last three quarters after only scoring 11 points in the opening period.

CSU Pueblo outscored the Regis Rangers 59-53 the last three quarters of the game, but were in such a deficit after quarter one, trailing 29-11 after the first quarter. The ThunderWolves may have been suffering from a setback hangover, losing their first conference game on Thursday to Colorado School of Mines.
The ThunderWolves trailed as many as 19 points in the first quarter at 28-9, and eventually ended the quarter trailing by 18 at 29-11. The Pack put together a great run in the second quarter, cutting the lead down to just eight points at the break at 42-38.
CSU Pueblo was unable to continue their momentum in the third quarter, as Regis extended their lead back to 17 after the third period at 67-50.Â
The Pack did not quit, as they generated another solid quarter of play, but were unable to generate a comeback, eventually falling 85-70.
Athena Saragoza and Erin Fry led the way for the Rangers. Saragoza had 22 points, while Fry had 18.Â
