Women's Hoops Get Back In Winning Ways Behind Big Night From Bonds And Little

PUEBLO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball squad got back into their winning ways, defeating Adams State on Thursday evening 77-60 at Massari Arena.

With the win, the Pack improve to 12-5 overall and 7-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, while the gritty Adams State squad fall to 10-8 overall and 5-4 in RMAC play.

The ThunderWolves move back into a tie for first place in the RMAC after Black Hills State fell to Colorado Mesa this evening.

The Pack were led by Alisha Little (Aurora, Colo./Northern Colorado), who dominated once again with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Tosjanae Bonds (Devner, Colo./MSU Denver) proved once again how much of a menace she is on both side of the floor, leading all players in the plus-minus category. Bonds ended the evening with a double-double, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds.

ABOUT THE WIN

CSU Pueblo had a nice start to the game, taking an early 14-10 lead after the first quarter behind four points and six boards from Little. The Pack had an outstanding first quarter rebounding the ball with 19 total rebounds in the first.

The ThunderWolves went off in the second quarter, shooting a scorching hot 80 percent in the quarter. Little dominated the quarter with 11 points and four more rebounds to record another double-double at the break. Landri Hudson (Aurora, Colo./Wyoming) had a solid quarter in the second, recording seven points in the frame. The Pack ended the second quarter with 30 points and took a 44-26 lead going into the break.

Adams State tried to claw their way back into the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Pack 19-15 in the third quarter. CSU Pueblo proved to be too much though, holding off the Grizzlies from their run and took a 59-45 lead going into the final frame.

The Grizzlies were unable to get the deficit down to single-digits, coming only as close as 12 points at 67-55, but it was too little too late. CSU Pueblo was able to hold off the Grizzlies, and eventually took home the 77-60 victory over Adams State.
